In the ever changing world of weddings it's hard to keep up.
Being a wedding supplier, myself and my fellow industry folk are forever playing catch up and trying to stay on trend. Reading wedding blogs, magazines and Pinterest searching until our eye balls are numb, all just to stay relevant, and if we're lucky, ahead of the game.
So, as a bride and groom, I can't even imagine how overwhelmed you can be when it comes to choosing a theme for your wedding and deciding on the all important colour scheme. It's enough to melt ones brain and call the whole thing off. And let's face it, the wedding politics can be enough on their own! (No Aunty Jean doesn't need a corsage and second cousin Lily is not getting an invite because I haven't seen her for 14 years. You know the story.)
With this is mind, I teamed up with the legend herself that is Dominique from Poppy Pickering cakes to create the ultimate, classic green and white styled shoot, but of course with my modern twist added for good measure. With 85k Instagram followers and now a published contributing author for the new book Designer Cake Decorating, Dominique is quite literally taking the wedding industry by storm and is the UK's queen of elegant cakes and perfectly straight tiers.
A key part of the success to a styled shoot is to pick the right venue. Somewhere with character and uniqueness and great natural light. All these factors help wedding suppliers like us to give our brides and grooms as much inspiration for their special day and to showcase our creative energy so clients can see our work at its finest.
Falcon Manor ticked all these boxes.
Incredible grounds, floor to ceiling windows which floods the building with light and an elegant reception area which almost takes you back in time. Plus the staff are the friendliest people I've ever met! In the words of Love Island, they're 100% my type on paper.
I teamed up with Natasha Cadman, mainly because she's a fucking rock star and also because she works none stop to capture everyone's work the best way she can. Whether it's laying on the floor, standing on a chair or hidding behind reflections, she absolutely kills it to get the shot! And this is what I love her for. That, and the fact that she has an infectious laugh and always brings the energy and positivity.
And what else do we have in store for you? Well, we've got make up by the crazy talented Thembi Mklanda. She was actually my MUA for my own wedding and...
hell, I'll just say it because she's too cool to say so, she's painted the face of a Spice Girl!
Check out her Instagram below to find out who. And Thembi absolutely BROUGHT it with cut creases and painted on freckles for this shoot!
Backcombed hair of dreams comes to you via Lexa Hair. She's the best of the best, a published author of TWO books and is the proud owner of her own gorgeous salon. Oh and she's fully booked for 3 months because she's shit hot.
Florals, by moi, we went for olives leaves and a boat load of white ranunculus, a popular wedding floral that ain't going NO-where! Garlands galore and whimsical backdrops and bouquets.
Hair pins to finish off the bridal look perfectly with Lisa from The Bobby Pin, Stationery scrolls, menus and invites from Gray Starling Designs and low back gowns from boho wedding boutique The Aisle. PS Katie (The Aisle) also makes bespoke denim bridal jackets. Hello!
Have I tempted you yet to keep scrolling?
So without further adue, here's the shoot my lovelies. May you be inspired to strip it back to green and white and leave the headache of wedding planning far behind you.
