Hello my gorgeous faux flower lovers!!
Hope you're all well and THANKS A BUNCH for visiting our latest blog. It's been a minute, and I've almost forgotten how to type, but here we go...
Here at Deluxe Blooms we love ALL kinds of weddings. So far, with our artificial flowers, I've given you barn wedding inspo, silk flower backdrops, DIY weddings, themed weddings, colourful weddings... you name it!
But today, I want to share a very special wedding with you.
Helen and Gavin's Traditional DR-EEEAMY Fairy-tale Wedding! "Ooh, yes please!" I hear you say.

Well get ready to fill those lockdown sore eyes with some beautiful and traditional wedding inspiration for your Pinterest Board.
But first, lets talk 'tradition' and why its making a come back on the wedding scene. To me, tradition is something that's passed on, it's a gift from our elders and something to be treasured. Even though I'm obsessed with barn weddings and hay bales, there's just a certain charm that speaks to my soul when it comes to following traditions and traditional weddings. Don't you think so?

And thats exactly what Helen and Gavin wanted for their big day. I've known Helen for a few years now. She's a fellow girl boss and one of the hardest working people I've ever met. She's effortlessly more professional than me and totally rocks a smart pencil skirt and killer heels. (I haven't worn heels to work in years.)
Helen's organised, fearless, smart, someone I aspire to be more like, and when she asked me to create some florals for her big day, I just knew this wedding would be one to stand out from the crowd. After all she was her own wedding planner and she is pretty fabulous!
~ Otley Parish Church ~
"From being a little girl, I dreamed of the fairy-tale wedding. The church, the cars, the flowers, the big dress...
Therefore the theme for our wedding was definitely traditional, a church wedding followed with a reception at a stately home.
I never considered anywhere else to say my vows other than Otley Parish Church. It is a special church to me and my family because both my parents and my grandparents were married there."
Can you believe how romantic this is? Three generations being wed at the same church. And so begins the fairy-tale!
Most of my consultations start with, "the dream is to have...".
Weddings should be dreamy. Just like Helen, you've probably planned this day in your head every year since you were 6. (How we managed this without the internet is beyond me, but still we did it!)
And that's exactly what I want for you, in artificial flower form, for your big day. Everything to be perfect, seemless. A dream come true. I just love how unique each wedding is and creating silk flower designs for you big day.
Faux flowers are great for many reasons. Helen, like many of my brides opted for a mixture of fresh and faux flowers for her and Gavin's big day. (Did you know I did that?) I've worked with many 'fresh flower' florists to create wedding florals. Most have their bridal party flowers and bouquets as real flowers, and here we see the stunning work from Lily's of Bramhope, undoubtedly one of the most well known and talented florists in Yorkshire.

And I come in for the backdrop, centrepiece and aisle flower hire etc. It works incredibly well and will defintely save you pennies towards that all important honeymoon.
I can match the list of colours and flowers to your fresh flowers so the whole theme comes together seamlessly. For her traditional wedding, Helen wanted tall, romantic centrepices for the guest tables with artificial white hydrangeas, blush roses and foliage. We designed a large, whimsical floral display for the centre of the top table and some mini vases with faux flowers either side.
For an impressive entrance we chose a pair of large white artificial blossoms in rustic milk urns for a nod to the past, which were used both at the church and wedding venue.

The wedding breakfast took place at the charming Goldsborough Hall, nestled between Harrogate and York. It has breathtaking views and traditional architecture. Bay windows and exposed brick work in the Orangery coupled with the most impressive collection of antique mirrors I've ever seen.
The whole place runs like clockwork and its been a pleasure to work with them over the years.

Much love and stay safe,
Words and advice from our real life bride Helen, just for you!
"My wedding day was the best day of my life.
Gavin proposed to me at The Pheasant Country Hotel in Harome, North Yorkshire in September 2018 and we set a date of 4th October 2019 for our big day.
I planned the wedding myself and I can honestly say I enjoyed every single minute of it. With just over a year to organise everything, I didn’t feel under any pressure at all.
We chose Goldsborough Hall for our reception as we wanted a traditional venue that could be exclusively ours for the day. It has 12 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds which made the perfect backdrop for our photographs.
The best part of the day was saying my vows to Gavin in the company of our family and closest friends closely followed by my dad walking me down the aisle.
My advice to any brides to be would be to enjoy every single minute! If you are planning the wedding yourself, ensure you give yourself enough time.
Also I would definitely recommend having a videographer. I have honestly lost track of how many times I have watched our wedding video and I still cry every single time!"
