I met Sophie in April this year and I knew instantly that I wanted to work with her on her wedding florals.
First of all we just 'vibed' really well. But Sophie is one of those effortlessly cool people that we all aspire to be. Great fashion sense, a confident smile but softly spoken too. A beautiful soul, one that you don't meet everyday, she loves Taylor Swift and did I mention her incredibly awesome tattoos which just suit her down to a tee! Anyway, yes I had a total girl crush and yes we worked together!
So back to the consultation... she came to see me with her mum which I'd highly recommend- bringing a parent to your floral consultation is a great idea as they give the best advice!
Sophie told me she was eloping! (I know, just when I thought she couldn't possibly be any more freakin' cool) She was after a bespoke floral crown, faux bouquet and of course a buttonhole to pack away in her suitcase for her secret wedding in St. Lucia!
She was worried that we wouldn't have enough time to sort all the designs before August. But the beauty of working with faux is that it isn't time restricting. I can be involved in multiple weddings on the same weekend or even day, because everything can be made before hand and the bride and groom get a true preview of what their florals will look like for the big day. One of the great reasons to 'go faux'.
And so we set to designing. Sophie loved our faux bougainvillea and gypsophila for her crown. Delicate, soft and pretty it made the perfect crown for Sophie. For her bouquet she wanted something small with pastels and peonies. I teamed up this colour palette with some grey green eucalyptus which goes perfectly with whites and soft pinks.
Here are some photos from her wedding day, including amazing scenery and a first look moment too. Enjoy!
