So, you're getting MARRIED!!

Congratulations! It's such an exciting time.

I thought I'd dedicate my lastest blog to all the B2B's (Bride to be's) and helping you and your partner prepare for the craziness of wedding planning with my top tips. I get asked lots of questions from you guys, so here's my top tip answers for all the most frequently asked questions!

What should you do first?

Definitely book your venue! Look around at least 3-4 places you like and ask for their available dates. Always check with family and friends what month is good for them too and that way you can guarantee all your favourite people can make it. Especially if you're getting hitched in 6 months. You don't want to book a date when your best friends on holiday!

Booking your venue is one of the biggest jobs, but once it's done, it's a huge tick off the 'to do' list. And now you know where you're tying the knot you can begin the rest of the preparations.

What's my favourite part of the wedding day?

The wedding ceremony HAS to be my the best part of a wedding for me. There's often so much to think about, the flowers, the guests, the menu, song choice etc. But the whole point of getting married is standing up in front of the people you care about and making a commitment to each other. Saying ‘I do’ is a very special moment and it always brings a tear to my eye.

What’s the best bit of advice I can give to couples to help with wedding preparations?

Well, when it comes to flowers… Pinterest! And wedding magazines of course. Mainly because it's so much fun, and organising your wedding can be stressful, so make it enjoyable where you can! Having a general idea of your wedding theme and colours is a huge help when meeting your suppliers, especially your florist. Have a Pinterest board prepared to show ideas, or ask them to create one for you. I'm more than happy to put together a mood board to help couples. It's a great way to get your partner involved too.

Best part of my job?

It has to be working with couples! Getting to meet the bride/groom.
Whether it's just her, or she brings her partner, or with her mother and sisters, it's always a pleasure. Yes I work most weekends, but I'm passionate about what I do and I love meeting new people and seeing how excited they are about their wedding day.

But the very, very best part is hearing how they met and how their love story began. I'm a sucker for romance!

And finally, this years wedding trends. What should you be looking out for in 2017/18?

For me, it's all about foliage! All types of greenery are being celebrated now. Eucalyptus is hugely popular, as are the other soft, grey toned greenery such as lambs ear and millers leaf. These also come in fabulous faux varieties! I'd even argue that they can look better.

Ferns are quite literally everywhere! And I'd love to do a botanical inspired wedding this year!

Dahlias have also been this years new comer on the wedding scene. They're a fabulous flower, real or faux, because they come in all sorts of different colours, they're a good size which means you need less of them, and they're very pretty with delicate petal details.

So there you go! I'm hoping this helps some B2B's. Happy wedding planning guys.

On a final note, here's some reasons why 'going faux' could be a great decision for your wedding day...

You can have peonies in ANY season!

Faux flowers make a fabulous alternative to fresh if you have a smaller budget, if you suffer from allergies or you have a large space to fill!

Hire from us! Don't buy fresh flowers that will only last a few days, if that!

We’ve searched long and hard for the very best silk flowers around, so even though they aren't real, they still have the ‘wow’ factor!
