Earlier this year I was asked to collaborate on an Autumnal styled wedding shoot at the glorious Wharfedale Grange, Harewood. If you haven't heard of this venue, then where have you been? And if you haven't seen it, then I'll say it again, where have you been? Seriously guys, this venue takes Barn Weddings to. the. next. level!
Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, surrounded by endless green hills and views to die for, Wharfedale Grange is fast becoming one of my favourite venues. And the gorgeousness doesn't stop there. Oh no! The inside is just as fabulous as it's surroundings. Exposed brick walls, the world's best stocked bar, perfect mood lighting (including the largest Rose Gold disco ball in the UK) ornate mirrors and a velvet chair collection unlike anything you've ever seen. Wharfedale Lodge just screams luxury. Oh, and I almost forget they have a Prosecco tap in the ladies powder room. Life made right?
The bridal suite for getting ready in, truly is a magical place and the models all looked very grand and princess like whilst they were in the hands of our fabulous glam team. The wallpaper, the wardrobe that opens up to be a jaw dropping mirror, the chaise lounge, just everything about this room makes you feel special and calm and ready for the big day ahead.
As you entered the bridal suite behind the secret door (I know! Secret door!) you'd meet our glam team for the day, who all said the lighting was so perfect to create their bridal looks. Wedding make up genius Natalie, who's as sweet and lovely as she is talented, created some stunning bridal make up looks for our three models. From smokey eyes, to that all important perfect red lip, she totally nailed the brief.
Hair was created by Becca Hunton, who's styles were soft and elegant and practically masterpieces of hair design. Each style was created to incorporate the beautiful bridal hair jewellery from The Bobby Pin. And Becca certainly didn't disappoint. This girl knows hair, owns about 5,000 pins and brushes and she has skills I can only dream of. Book her. Book her now!
And as if that wasn't enough glam, we even had Leanne on nails, yes honey! Lisa from The Bobby Pin, is nothing if not a perfectionist and she even thought about the girls having perfect nails. Leanne turned around 3 sets of immaculate nails in record time. Not only is she the Queen of nail design, but that girl can get the whole bridal party done in the morning, have no worries about that.
The shoot, as I mentioned earlier, was organised by milliner extraordinaire, and my close personal friend, Lisa from The Bobby Pin- who's company has now expanded to new fashion accessory brand Adorn. You'll see her beautiful bridal hair pieces below! The way these bridal hair pieces capture the light has to be seen to be believed. Each hand made and carefully crafted bridal jewellery from each collection will make any bride feel a million dollars on their wedding day. From sparkle, to cream leather florals, to baby blue pins to be your something blue, Lisa's collection has something for everyone.
We've got a three tied cake of Autumnal dreams and a heavenly doughnut wall by the infamous Where the Ribbon Ends. Cake makers to the stars, this sister team have become a celebrity duo in their own right. From the straight lines on each tier and the hand painted designs and sugar flowers, and the ruffles... oh my the ruffles, I'll take a hundred please Anna and Gayle. As delicious as they look, you cannot go wrong when you order your wedding cake from these legends. You're in good hands.
We had neon lights galore from Love Lights the Way, and those on trend giant bulbs with the different shaped filament wires. They make such an impact for any wedding styling. But the Angel wings were the show stopper, the creme de la creme, the stop you in your tracks wow factor. Neon Angel wings for your wedding photography, erm... yes purr-lease!
Our dresses were supplied from Ilkley's brand new bridal boutique The Aisle. Katie is a huge fan of our artificial flowers, and I'm just mad at her for not being around when I got married. Seriously, I'm fuming. The styles this girl has on offer. The boho bride, relaxed bride, I don't want a meringue dress bride, Katie has got you covered. There's intricate lace details and styles to suit every shape in her wonderful collection and here's a few samples of her dresses below for you swoon over.
Our stationery was supplied by Love Tallulah Belle and intricate styling by Emily K weddings. Together the three of us and White House Crockery worked on a beautiful table setting next to the infamous open brick walls of Wharfedale Grange. The delicate and modern stationery designs paired with Emily's styling items and her natural ability to make a table setting look SO effortless and swoon worthy, complimented my artificial flower centrepieces perfectly. Emily has many years experience in the wedding industry and her passion and enjoyment for taking your wedding to the next level is still as fresh as the day she started. Honestly, her love of weddings in contagious!
And, where do I start with our photographer Jane?! No, seriously, I don't know where to start. Jane has a unique ability to capture weddings perfectly and with such flare. Her equipment is top of the range, her edits are bright and romantic. You can spot Jane's talent and style a MILE off! She was a delight to work with and it's not surprising that she's so high in demand.
Now, if you can't already tell, I love me a style shoot. For so many reasons... meeting other wedding suppliers (I literally have best friends from past shoots!), getting exclusive access to the UK's most incredible wedding venues (I mean, yeah, it's pretty awesome). But another of my favourite things about a styled wedding shoot, is getting to show off with my artificial flowers. Un-apologetically, get my faux floral beauties and start creating wonderful and wild arrangements, wedding bouquets, backdrops and artificial centrepieces. It gives me the chance to show you guys how amazing silk flowers can be. That artificial flowers have come SUCH a long way, and honestly people won't even be able to tell that they're fake flowers. Trust me. I've seen the shocked faces, "are these really artificial flowers?"
So by being involved in these incredibly creative shoots, as well as being a heck of a lot of fun, they allow me the platform to show my lovely bride and grooms-to-be how artificial wedding flowers can be a great alternative to fresh. Silk flowers aren't seasonal, so you can have any flower, any time of year. Yes peonies in December and you're living the dream! They're allergy free, have a smaller carbon footprint than fresh and because I don't have to worry about a water supply for them, these faux florals can be hung wherever, whenever and for however long you need.
Here's a full list of suppliers with links to their websites so be sure to check them out... and thanks for having me Lis!
